Sprawling across both sides of the River Vardar, Negotino covers a significant portion of the fertile Tikves Valley. Along with Kavadarci, Negotino is well known as the home of Macedonia’s best wine and rakija (brandy).
Negotino was first mentioned as a name of a Turkish estate at the beginning of 19th century, when the famous Saat Kula (Clock Tower), the most important feature of this town of vineyards and wine cellars, was built.
