Let us mention that, since 2002, the Festival is a member of the ECFF/European Coordination of the Film Festivals and has precious collaboration with it. The main part of the Festival's programme belongs to “CAMERA 300” - Official Competition of Long Feature Films from the most recent European and world production, whose Directors of Photography contend for the Golden, Silver and Bronze "CAMERA 300", awarded by the Festival's International Jury composed of five members. SHORT FILMS PROGRAM
Beside the main Competitive Program, our Festival has already achieved a position worth envying in the popularization of the domestic, and particularly of the world’s short films of all genres, by which we confirm our maturity on the international plan, thus joining the numerous world’s festivals that are traditionally concerned with the short film. This year, we have a reason to be even more proud as we decided not to invite films upon our previous selection, but to select the best 16 films following the self-applications of the producers and authors, and there were over 100 such from all over the world. As for the quality of the selected films – you will have the chance to define it after you have seen them. For now, there is our old idea and desire, for the celebration of the 30th Jubilee Edition of our Festival, finally to transform this short films program into competitive, too, so that the distinguished International Jury, aside from awarding the three best feature film cinematographers achievements, also to evaluate and award the best cinematographers in the short documentaries and short feature films.
STUDENT PROGRAM MANAKI BROTHERS
This year we received plenty of student films from all around the world, and it was really tough for each one of us to decide which one of them should be included to the festival program. It is very interesting to see that most of them were more than an average student film; they were as good as professional films. Besides, we also realized that the diversity and the quality of the student films are getting better every year. The competition is getting more challenging. They are so expressive and powerful to get their message across the audience. Hope this year the audience will find a chance to appreciate the films like we do. |
