Highest point: peak Medenica 2163m.Location: The city of Gostivar is 65km away from Skopje by the highway. From there, for 20min by regional road you reach Mavrovo easily and fast. This region offers attractive mountain massifs such as: Bistra, Shar Planina, Stogovo, Deshat, Suva Gora, with more then 40 peaks with altitude over 2000m. Unfortunately, most of them, are located in the very bordering area with Albania, so they can be visited with special license only, issued by the Ministry of internal affairs.
