Pesna Cave,Makedonski Brod

Depart from Skopje. After a two hour drive, arrive in the vicinity of Makedonski Brod, and after a 5 min walk, arrive to the grand entrance of the cave, one of the greatest cave entrances in Macedonia. The visit of this cave is also an opportunity for the group to see remnants of a Byzantium fortress. The legend has it that this fortress used to be the home of Pesna- sister of King Marko (1335- 1395). On the opposite side of the cave there is one more fortress- Devini Kuli, known to have been the home of the second sister of King Marko, Deva. It is supposed that the two caves are connected with an underground passage. The spring of the river Peshnica is located in the cave itself.
